James Reveley believes Chercheur D'or can give him and French trainer Guillaume Macaire back-to-back wins in the Gran Premio di Merano.

Twelve months ago Reveley guided Rigoureux to a facile success in the €380,000 contest, sadly injury has sidelined the 11-year-old this campaign and retirement now looks on the cards.

Reveley speaking exclusively to www.cdhorseracingtours.com said: "I ride Chercheur D'or for Mr Macaire, he's in good order and top form. He has won his last three races very easily and I couldn't be happier with him going into the race.

"He's a decent horse with smart form, who has competed in Group and Listed races, he really is a good one and he just needs to take to the fences at Merano.

"I know Mr Macaire doesn't think this year's race looks the strongest line-up ever, so I'd hope we have every chance. I won't go out in front, but hopefully I can drop him in and take my time before coming late - that's the plan."

Reveley revealed he has booked rides at Market Rasen next Saturday, before flying in for the day next Sunday to team-up with the seven-year-old, which is currently his only mount of the meeting so far.
