Tour History

Robin Dickin has been training since 1986, sending out winners on the Flat and over jumps, from five furlongs to four miles, making him a truly versatile trainer.

Prior to training Robin rode winners under both codes as a professional jockey.

Robin’s base at Hill Farm, Great Alne, in the heart of Warwickshire has been home for the last two years and offers a superb facility for training both Flat and National Hunt horses. The yard was developed by the late John Allen, and has all facilities immediately to hand.

Set in 120 acres of grassland the gallop is visible from virtually all aspects of the farm which makes for great viewing. As well as the superb gallop, the farm offers a wealth of options for exercising the horses, which keeps staff and horses interested.

All of Robin’s horses are turned out every day, which keeps them happy and healthy – if a little muddy at times!

The great Kadastrof was arguably the best horse that Robin has trained, but the prolific Dr Rocket, Shampooed and sprinter Ballasecret have been some to note over the years.

With the likes of Thomas Crapper, Restless Harry and Garrahalish now flying the flag for the yard, the stable also has an exciting string of young horses coming behind them which are well worth a visit.

Dontmindboys, Routine Procedure and Under The Phone are all young horses with bright futures, along with the exciting Timon’s Tara and Wildmoor Boy who have both show some good bumper form.

With stabling for 40, the yard offers a friendly and professional approach and looks forward to welcoming you for a look around and giving you an insight into what makes us tick, as well as a hearty breakfast.
